GDC EVENTS

65% of all GDC Audio Track Speakers are GANG Members!

GDC is here in about a week! Here are some dates, times and info for you, including the RSVP for the GANG Awards After Party.

The GANG Town Hall (open to all, no pass required) is on Thursday, march 28th from 1 – 2 pm in Room 3000 West Hall

The GANG Demo Derby: Music is Wednesday March 27th from 11 am – 1 pm in Room 3004 with Alexander Brandon, Jack Wall, Paul Lipson, Chance Thomas and Brian Schmidt.

The GANG Demo Derby: Sound Design is Wednesday March 27th from 2 pm – 3 pm with Mike Morasky, Gene Semel, Brian Schmidt in Room 3004 West Hall

The GANG Awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, March 28th at 7pm at Moscone Center West Hall in Room 3000. The awards show is open to the public, and family and friends are welcome.

The GANG Awards After Party will be at Pyramind Studios at 832 and 880 Folsom St, from 9pm – midnight. RSVP with this link You will need the RSVP and your GDC pass to get in.

As usual, we will have our After Party RAFFLE! So bring cash to win fabulous software, SFX libraries, plugins and more from these generous and amazing companies:

GDC 2013 GANG DISCOUNT CODE & Online Registration Closes March 20th!

GDC Demo Derby Submissions!

Check THE FORUMS for information on posting your Demo Derby files if you plan on participating this year. We have several already and will be filling up soon. The deadline is March 20th.

REMEMBER, you MUST be in attendence at GDC this March, in San Francisco, otherwise there won’t be much point to reviewing your work without you being there.

AUDIO FILES for Music Derby: 1 file, 320 kpbs MP3, 60 seconds or less

VIDEO FILES for Sound Design Derby: 1 file, Quick Time (.mov file) 1280×720 or less, stereo 44.1 audio – 120 seconds or less.

If you’d like to use video in the music derby, that’s fine, just use the video format list (but keep it under 60 seconds as that’s a requirement for the music derby.) If you’d like to do audio only for the sound design derby, that’s fine, just use the audio format listed above.

file name formatted as

“MUSIC(if Music derby)_FIRSTNAME_LASTNAME.mp3” or
“SOUND(if Sound Deisgn derby)_FIRSTNAME_LASTNAME.mov”

Please see this article for more information on the derby. There is NO judging of submissions, and all submissions are considered part of the panel once submitted unless we get too many. It is handled on a first come, first served basis.
