November 2017 Newsletter

This week Simon Ashby talks about the Wwise audio toolset.

Simon is responsible for designing many aspects of Wwise so he knows all about the tool right down to the smallest detail

If you haven’t checked out Wwise then this is a perfect opportunity to get some valuable insight

If you didn’t play the original Beyond Good and Evil, you really should!

This week on G.A.N.G.TV we have a look at the original BGaE and analyse the audio. This was an outstanding game on the PS2 and had really interesting characters, world setting and story.

Jade was one of the first awesome female protagonists in games and this game has many lessons we can still learn about design.

G.A.N.G. Mixer at GameSoundCon
The G.A.N.G. Hang mixer sponsored by Dolby at GameSoundCon was a big success. Ken Jacobsen, our newest Advisory Board Member, enthusiastically gave away several prizes generously donated by our sponsors including Varantic, Reformer Pro and Dehumaniser 2 by Krotos, Sound Librarian SFX Library, Pro Sound Effects, and prize packages from Music Marketing which included products from FabFilter, Polyverse and K Research.
Phillip Klassen from Redmond, WA won the Sound Librarian SFX Library and had this to say, “It’s these friendly relationships between pros and beginners that make being part of G.A.N.G. and attending Game Audio conferences so special. As a Game Composer & Sound Designer I can assure that the library will be put immediately to good use!” Congratulations Phillip and all of the other winners!
