Student Game Team Audio Mixer
11/21/2013 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pmFree
Looking for a way to break into the game industry? GANG is happy to present an opportunity to our students, recent grads and apprentice members where they can meet a group of students from UC Santa Cruz who are in the Master's program for Games and Playable Media.
The students' coursework includes creating and finishing a game, and all of these games need audio! So we are throwing a mixer between GANG and UC Santa Cruz' Center for Games and Playable Media. The UCSC students will all present prototypes of their games to the attendees and we will encourage GANG members to meet and chat with these students about their projects to match everyone up with a project or two (depending on how many of you show up!) Mind you, these are not paid professional projects, but if you are looking to jump into a student game project with some people who are serious about making and finishing their game, this is a GREAT opportunity.
The Masters program at the Center for Games and Playable Media is a program designed and taught by game industry veterans Brenda and John Romero. Between the 2 of them they have designed and conceived hundreds of games including Doom, Quake, Ghost Recon Commander, Wizardry, Jagged Alliance, Ravenwood Fair, Wolfenstein 3D and many more.
There will be light beverages and snacks and a lot of game chatter, so bring your business cards and enthusiasm for a fun night of project matchmaking!
