Savina Ciaramella has over 25 years of experience in the music industry from negotiations to production. Her career began in 1990 at Walt Disney Records in the A&R Department where she served as Director of A&R Administration, A&R Coordinator, Production Manager and Union Specialist between Disney and AFTRA, SAG, AFM and ACTRA. She established best practices and processes resulting in a stronger foundation for the label that grew exponentially after the release of The Little Mermaid Soundtrack. She negotiated artist deals, coordinated recording sessions, created and monitored production budgets, supervised royalty audits, handled all union matters, and developed award-winning records, such as Disney’s Lullaby Album series and The Best of Country Sing the Best of Disney featuring Faith Hill, Alison Krauss, Tanya Tucker and Little Texas. During her tenure, she received 15 RIAA certified Gold, Platinum and Diamond Awards for her contributions, including Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Toy Story, Mulan, Tarzan, Remember the Titans, Lilo & Stitch, and Disney’s Lullaby Album.
After departing Disney in 2004, Savina managed established composers, songwriters and producers in the video game, features, broadcast and record industries. In 2007, she was appointed Director of the American Federation of Musicians National Office by President Tom Lee. She supported over 240 branches across the U.S. and Canada, and represented over 90,000 professional musicians. She quickly identified a growth opportunity in the Video Game Department and spearheaded the creation and implementation of a new streamlined video game agreement, which increased wages and benefits tenfold in her first year by cultivating strong relationships with composers, producers, and game publishers and developers. As the Director of the Electronic Media Services Division, she led a team of 20 and administered agreements including Video Game, Motion Picture/TV Film, Student/Festival Film, Interactive/New Media, Theme Park, Cruise Ship and special agreements. She also served as the AFM spokesperson at award shows and was a frequent panelist at conferences and seminars. With her innovative concepts and strong people skills, she advanced the objectives of the Federation while creating win-win opportunities for musicians, composers, producers, film studios, indie filmmakers, and game developers and publishers.
After departing the AFM in 2010, Savina developed new business and coordinated scoring sessions as an independent scoring liaison for Skywalker Sound and the Skywalker Symphony Orchestra. She joined the executive team of the Game Audio Network Guild in January of 2015 serving as the Director of Sponsor Relations and Business Development. She was honored with the 2015 Distinguished Service Award at the 2016 G.A.N.G. Awards Show, and as of March 2016, she serves the members of G.A.N.G. as the Executive Director. She is also the Director of Music Production at Formosa Group in Los Angeles, and manages all music related projects including score commissioning, score production, music licensing, and signatory services.
Savina is a member of The Game Audio Network Guild, The Society of Composers and Lyricists, and Women Industry Network. She also volunteers at For The Troops, Soroptimist International and Best Friends Animal Society.
