Composer and arranger Greg Watson is a senior music composition student at the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music where he studies under the direction of Dr. Clint Needham and Dr. Jonathan Sokol. Born and raised in Northeast Ohio, Greg has enjoyed strong musical relationships throughout the area and beyond.
In the summer of 2018, Greg was awarded a music composition fellowship with the Talis Festival & Academy held annually in Saas-Fee, Switzerland. During his time at the festival, Greg received the immense pleasure of studying with renowned French composer Alexandre Ouzounoff, as well as the honor of working with Swiss harpist Carina Walter of the Basel Symphony Orchestra. The composer’s piece, “Relics from the Gobi,” for two flutes and harp was written as the second movement in a four-movement series entitled Desolate Places and became his first internationally performed work.
Following his studies at Baldwin Wallace, Greg hopes to further his education at a graduate-level institution to study media composition.
