John Shaw is a composer based in Nashville, TN, where he focuses on video game music and music for other interactive mediums. A recent graduate of Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music, he has studied under Drs. Michael Slayton, Michael Rose, Michael Kurek, Stan Link, and Jonathon Sokol. Prior to composition, he studied horn with Jesse McCormick and Leslie Norton, of the Cleveland Orchestra and Nashville Symphony, respectively.
Proficient in scoring for both the screen and the concert hall, John has received formal training in a variety of styles, ensembles, instrumentation, and soundscapes. Outside of music, he remains an avid hobbyist, designing and managing Redmont and Redmont II: Manifest Destiny.
