The Awards Show Process
Submissions for the G.A.N.G. Awards occur in the Fall, with the show itself occurring at the end of March (usually at GDC). Submissions are first vetted for eligibility. After submissions are verified to be eligible and in the correct category, Nominees in each category are selected by one of four nominating committees: Music Committee, Sound Design Committee, Dialogue Committee and “other Awards.” The committees comprise members of the G.A.N.G. Board of Directors, Advisory Board and other interested members of G.A.N.G.
Once the nominees are selected in each category, the final winner is voted on by the membership at large. The final winner is determined by a weighting of the full membership vote and the original committee vote.
Certain awards, such as Lifetime Achievement, the G.A.N.G. Recognition Award, The G.A.N.G Service Award, and the G.A.N.G. Ambassador Award are typically chosen directly by the G.A.N.G. officers.
Note: The Game Audio Network Guild may take measures it deems necessary to protect the integrity of the G.A.N.G. Awards from outside influence, vote trading, bloc voting or any other factors that could jeopardize the process.
