What is a "Demo Derby"?

The Game Audio Network Guild Demo Derby is one of the highest rated and longest running annual events at the Game Developers Conference and GameSoundCon. Participants bring in examples of their work and a panel of game audio experts review and provide constructive feedback.  

All submissions will be considered in the order received.  We can not guarantee that all submissions will be able to be heard – so make sure you get your submission in early!.

2024 Demo Derbies

Submissions for the Game Audio Network Guild Game Developers Conference 2023 Demo Derbies are now open and will close March 3 at 11:59 PM PT. 

Note: You must have a GDC pass (Audio Pass or higher) to attend/participate in the Demo Derbies. 

To ensure a quicker process we will only be accepting linear entries.

Details:

          • All submissions must be 90 seconds in length, no longer. 
          • Submissions must be original work
          • Submitter must have a GDC Audio Pass or higher to attend the Demo Derby session. 
     

Instructions: 

To make a submission, please do the following:

          1. Create a high-bit rate .mp3 (320kbps; no .wav or uncompressed file formats, please!) of your submission. Please set the filename to [LastName][FirstName]_GDC24.mp3

          2. Create a text file (.txt or .rtf) with your contact information. Please set the filename to [LastName][FirstName]_GDC24.txt

          3. Upload the high-bit rate .mp3 and text file to the following folder: https://www.dropbox.com/request/nMdspTNxcXyLWjb2iOAe

Details:

          • All submissions must be 90 seconds in length, no longer. 
          • Sound Design for submissions must be original work
          • Submitter must have a GDC Audio Pass or higher to attend the Demo Derby session.
