Josh Donnelly is the Assistant Band Director at Pilot Point ISD, where he directs the beginning band program, the high school concert band, and the high school jazz band. He is also the Director of Percussion in which he instructs all grade levels of percussion studies.

Josh received his bachelors in Music Education in 2016 from the University of Oklahoma, where he studied percussion under Dr. Lance Drege as well as conducting from Dr. Michael Hancock, Dr. William Wakefield, Dr. Brian Wolfe, and Mr. Brian Britt. During his studies he also performed with the University’s Symphonic Band, Symphony Orchestra, Percussion Orchestra, the Sooner Bassooners, the Steel Pan Ensemble, the University of Oklahoma Drumline, and the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band. While studying, Josh also instructed the Southmoore High School front ensemble and was a beginning percussion instructor at El Sistema Oklahoma, led by the Oklahoma City University Wanda Bass School of Music.

Outside of his teaching, Josh is currently the Principal Percussionist for the Dallas Brass Band, Dallas’s only community British Brass Band led by the University of North Texas’s David Childs and Dr. Daniel Cook. He is also a member of the Salyers Percussion Education Team. During the summer Josh actively seeks to clinician and teach percussionists throughout the state, including with the Lone Star Drum and Bugle Corps and the Royals Drum and Bugle Corps. Josh is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association, the National Band Association, and the Percussive Arts Society.
