    Steven Tobi

    Born and raised in Tampa FL, now residing in Nashville TN, (Steven Tobi) is best known as founding member and lead guitarist for the Alternative Rock group “The Nearly Deads”. While the band makes up the bulk of his musical career, his passion for the medium expands far beyond the stage. At an early age, Steven's musical journey was inspired by the adventurous and emotion filled scores of John Williams and Koji Kondo.

    Since moving to Nashville in 2009, Steven has been building his career as a film and game composer. He has worked with local and international directors and developers on a variety of projects, most notably (Fatherless - Short Film, Virtually in Love - Short Film, Sifting Thyme - Mobile Game). In 2022, he secured Best Original Score at the PheonixShortFestival for his work on the short film "Family Gone" and in 2023 received a nomination for Best Original Score at the 54FilmFest for his work on "Agent 54".

    Always working to grow as an artist, Steven continues to improve his craft through collaboration and further educational opportunities. He has collaborated on several GameJam and FilmFest projects and is currently studying under Nashville composer Michael Whittaker (Power Rangers, TMNT).
