Siobhan Wilson Biography 

Singer, composer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Siobhan Wilson grew up in Elgin, Scotland. A trained cellist, singer, composer and pianist from St Mary's Music School of Edinburgh, Siobhan has 15 years of international studio production experience including in New York, Paris, Budapest and Scotland. After a 5 year stay in Paris, France, she returned to Scotland where she is currently scoring her first full videogame score for "The Heirloom".

In 2023 Siobhan Wilson co-wrote tracks and is the singing voice on hotly tipped new indie puzzle adventure game Planet Of Lana (Xbox Pass, Wishfully). Soundtrack released by Takeshi Furukawa/Sony Classical available on Spotify. The song "Horizons" has earned a nomination for the coveted "Best Original Song" award by the Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G) at the upcoming Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. 

In 2021 Siobhan composed her first short documentary score for "Miann Na Mara/Wish for the Waves" available on BBC iplayer. Her second documentary score is now also available on iPlayer "Clo beag Chirsty Bella". Both documentaries are shortlisted for RTS awards.

She released a new double album on May 31st, 2023. The self-produced work only serves to underline Siobhan’s growing status as an independent auteur and inspirational force on the DIY scene. The first  album is titled “Recording Of Myself In A Room Of My Own”: a collection of new acoustic folk music and features a number of collaborations, namely with French composer Clementine March (tracks “Quand La Vie Fait Mal” and “Un Ange Passe”) and Mercury Prize nominee Kathryn Williams (tracks “Sleeping Dogs” and “Good Company”). New release "Quand La Vie Fait Mal" has been played on BBC6 radio, and was performed live at Celtic Connections in January 2023. Siobhan appeared on BBC Radio Scotland, live in session in March 2023 and May 2023. Her brand new release, Unst Boat Song, is arrangement of the traditional sea prayer sung in Norn and Shetlandic dialect, featured on God Is In The TV Zine, Fresh On The Net, and The List.

The second album of this collection, “Seeing With Music In Nature” - as the name suggests - continues down this line of environmental thought, with a collection of instrumental works, each inspired by a different region within Scotland’s lush and often dramatic landscape; from Tobermory, to Morayshire, to the Scottish Borders.

Her album 'There Are No Saints’ was shortlisted for the Scottish Album of the Year and drew attention from the likes of Rolling Stone and BBC6 Radio Lauren Laverne who listed it as her 'album of the day. Wilson is a regular live performer at BBC Scotland and BBC6 radio stations and was also shortlisted for "Best Musician" in The Sunday Herald Culture Awards.

The Scottish songwriter-composer has toured the UK, USA and Canada supporting the likes of Suzanne Vega and The Proclaimers and as well as her own headline shows.

Siobhan is an assistant writer for the prolific composer Takeshi Furukawa at Noise Refinery. A high-end production music label based in L.A crafted for trailers, films, television, video games, and beyond.

Wilson runs her own indie record label “Sufrecs” which saw her highly-acclaimed album 'The Departure', from which the lead single 'Marry You' featured in September 2019 on Saturday night's BBC Frankie Boyle's 'New World Order’. Siobhan Wilson's song 'Terrible Woman'  featured on the UK BBC Drama "Back To Life" from the producers of Fleabag, and is being aired currently on the  Showtime, and Netflix. The song "Say It's True" featured on a French TV advert.

Siobhan recently completed a masters degree in music composition at Edinburgh University after open study at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
