Steven Melin is a freelance music composer based in Chicago, IL. He is currently a writer for Vision1 Music, one of the leading music suppliers for CBS and FOX television networks, and AudioJungle, an international royalty-free music marketplace.

Melin’s music has been placed and performed internationally in numerous venues including films, television shows, commercials, video games, museums, universities, master classes, churches, & school concerts.

Melin is also a multi-instrumentalist, adept with over 20 instruments including piano, strings, guitars, vocals, & percussion. While continually acquiring and implementing new instruments from around the world into his recordings, Melin is also passionate about electronic synthesis and creating his own unique instruments. He aims to introduce the film and game world to a new sound of hybrid orchestral/electronic music.

As an avid fan of video game music, Melin also performs video game piano covers under the YouTube alias VGPianoMan. He hopes to share his love of video game music to the world and enhance his own writing in the process.

Melin has studied under Hollywood film composers David McHugh and Gary Chang. He is also an active member of SCL (Society of Composers and Lyricists), G.A.N.G. (Game Audio Network Guild), and ASCAP (American Society of Composers and Publishers).
