Tommy Strausbaugh
Tommy Strausbaugh is an audio engineer, sound designer, and composer based out of Ohio
After graduating high school in 2001 he moved to New Orleans to pursue a career in the hip-hop industry. While living in the “Big Easy”, Tommy had the opportunity to work with and be mentored by well known southern rap artist Tre-8. In 2002 Tommy decided to enlist in the Navy where he served his country for 4 years making the rank of Petty Officer and earning a National War on Terrorism Medal. In 2005 Tommy left the Navy, moved back to Ohio and began studying under Michael Shirtz and Chris Cavera at Terra State in a pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Music Technology. Tommy graduated from Capital University in May of 2013 with BA, also earning Core and Advanced Program Certificates from the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe Ohio.
As a composer Tommy has written original music for commercials and independent shorts. His experience in recording and mixing include music, radio, ADR, foley and sounf design.
