ASCAP EXPO Video Game Panel
Hosted by G.A.N.G. Board Member Tom Salta
This year’s ASCAP Expo featured an all-star game composer panel featuring  Jack Wall, Austin Wintory, Gordy Haab and moderated by Tom Salta who is also on the GANG Board of Directors. The turnout was standing room only and audience was treated to an entertaining discussion going behind the scenes of some of their most recent notable award winning projects including Wall’s Call of duty Black Ops, Gordy’s Halo Wars 2 and Star Wars Battlefront, and Wintory’s Abzu and Deformers.
DigiPen Digital Audio Symposium – May 6, 2017
DigiPen Institute of Technology is hosting their 5th annual Audio Symposium, which is jointly sponsored by the Game Audio Network Guild. Featured talks include:

  • Becky Allen – Always Be Composing: The Flexible Music System of Plants vs. Zombies Heroes
  • Edgar Choueiri – The State of the Art of Binaural Audio for Loudspeakers and Headphones
  • Howard Mostrom – Orchestral Scoring and Audio Production in Planetary Annihilation
  • James Johnston – Spatial Audio: What Can You Really Hear?

Submissions are now open for speakers for GameSoundCon 2017. GameSoundCon will be held November 7-8, 2017 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, CA.

Submissions may be lecture/presentations (25 or 60 minutes), roundtable discussions or panels.

  • Game Audio Pro:  “GDC-level talks,” aimed at the experienced professional
  • Audio for Virtual Reality: A “Conference within a Conference” focusing on VR/AR/MR
  • Game Audio Research: Academic or industry research on cutting edge issues in interactive audio
  • Game Audio Essentials: “A Game Audio 101” Crash course over 2 days.
