    Bio

    Andrew Edwards is a Chicago-based film and theatre composer. He is the owner of the Blue Police Box Music studio on Chicago’s north side, and an adjunct professor of film music in Columbia College Chicago’s MFA Music Composition for the Screen program.
    As a film composer, Drew has composed the music for a number of feature narrative films, including Scary Normal (2013) and Market Value (2016), and documentaries, including: Alex & Ali (2016), ’85: The Greatest Team in Pro Football History (2018), Defending A Monster, (2018), Bailout (2012), and A Message from the East (2009). Drew is presently working on the comedy-horror feature, Camp Wedding, with Director Greg Emetaz. He also recently finished the scores for the short films The Quit (2018), Safe Word (2014), and the amazing shorts Bowes Academy (2014), Get The F K Outta Paris (2016), and Spell Claire (2017) with Director Greg Emetaz.

    In 2015, Drew completed the music and sound design for the indie video game, Paper Wings, and the music and sound design for the award-winning therapeutic video game, Soteria – Dreams As Currency, with Deep Games (now a VR experience!). He recently finished the score and sound design for a second therapeutic video game, Blood Myth, with Deep Games, and the Shakespeare video game, Something Wicked, with Fabula(b). Also with Fabula(b), he is currently working on an immersive story-telling experience for the Hololens based on the Greek tragedy, Agamemnon.
    His work has been heard on television and in theatres across the country in the trailers for Bride Flight, Peabody & Sherman, and Promised Land, as well as in many national commercials. Drew created the music and sound design for the original audio dramas, Doctor Who: The Companion Chronicles – The Wanderer (Big Finish Productions/BBC), and Graceless II (Big Finish).
    His concert piece, The Glacier Sequence, premiered at the Kennedy Center in 2011 by the US Army Band “Pershing’s Own” Contemporary Chamber Ensemble, and continues to be a staple of their repertoire. His symphonic orchestral piece, The Paris Incident, received its world premiere by the Urbana Pops Orchestra on July 23rd, 2016.
    Mr. Edwards holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition/Theory from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an MFA in Music Composition for the Screen from Columbia College Chicago.
